Dear Parishioners:
We have begun processing pledges to the Jubilee 2010 Fund. I was concerned about keeping confidential credit card and banking information on file in the parish office. With the approval of the parish Finance Council, St. Maria Goretti parish has joined with ParishPay, LLC to offer an automated giving option for the Jubilee 2010 Fund. ParishPay is a nationally respected company that specializes in electronic payment programs for churches and schools. ParishPay allows users to fulfill an installment pledge to the Jubilee Fund from your checking/banking account, debit card or credit card.
How does ParishPay work? Just log on to our parish website: www.stmaria.org . Follow the link to Jubilee 2010 Fund. Jubilee Fund Donors enroll directly with ParishPay using their secure website. You will be asked if you would like to have your donation withdrawn from your checking/savings account or as a charge to your credit card. You will then be asked to provide the appropriate account number. ParishPay will email you a reminder of your donation five days before the deduction takes place.
The parish pays $1 per month per enrollee in addition to 1% of the gift processed at any one time. The parish finance council has reviewed these costs and found them to be reasonable and easily offset by the anticipated decrease in administration costs and increase in gifts that will result from convenient and consistent service to the parishioner.
This is the total cost if you have designated your donation as a debit from your checking account.
However if you choose to use your credit card then the credit card company will charge the parish an additional fee of 2 – 3%, further reducing your donation. Obviously, we would prefer you elect to use your bank debit card rather than a credit card. While you may be concerned about providing bank account information, this same information is readily shown on every check you write.
If you have any questions, please contact Janine Sano or Ted Foss at the parish business office. We are pleased to offer this choice to provide a cost effective and secure way to make gifts to the Jubilee 2010 Fund.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Rev. Thomas J. Powers
