Alberta has been married for fifty-seven years to Marty (Bud). They are the parents of five children, and grandparents to ten.The McMahon's came to Lynnfield in 1955 and were members of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish until 1965 when they moved within the boundaries of St. Maria Goretti Parish. At that time, they rejoined the Parishioners who were initially assigned to St. Maria Goretti when it was established in 1960.

Alberta worked for the Lynnfield School System as Principal's Secretary and Secretary to the Business manager for a total of twenty-two years. She also worked as Secretary to the Director of Development at Nazareth Academy for two years. Both Alberta and Marty have been active in parish life. Currently, Alberta works behind the scenes in the parish office and religious education program.
